2001 Fall CamporeeOn the weekend of October 5th, 6th, and 7th
Troop 45 had 7 Boy Scouts and 4 leaders attend the Council Fall Camporee. |
Slide Mountain HikeOctober 20th Troop 45 went hiking up Slide Mountain, the highest Mt. in the Catskills.The weather and the views from the summit were great. 9 Scouts and 5 adults enjoyed the hike. |
Fall Backpack 2001 -
Clear Pond/Treadway Mt.September 22nd and 23rd, Troop 45 went Backpacking in the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness area of the Adirondack Mts. The troop hiked to Clear Pond and camped overnight. The next day we hiked up Treadway Mt. for some great views of the Adirondack Mt Range. 8 scouts and 5 leaders all had a great 11 mile backpacking weekend. |
Summer
Camp 2001The week of July 22nd July 28th Troop 45 had 15 scouts attend summer camp at Camp Tri-Mount Scout Reservation. Scouts earned a total of 46 merit badges. |
Spring
Backpacking Trip (2001)On the weekend of June 9th & 10th Troop 45 had 11 Boy Scouts and 3 Adult Leaders backpack into Devils Kitchen lean-to in the Catskill Mts. This was the first backpacking trip for some of our new scouts. The weekend had great weather and the scouts had a lot of fun. In the Fall were going to the Adirondack Mountains. |
Repelling
at the Sundance Tower in Phoenicia, NYOn Saturday May 26th , 8 Boy Scouts and 2 leaders learned basic rappellingat the tower in Phoenica N.Y. Instructor Tom Crucet did a great job of teaching our young scouts in rappelling from a 40 foot tower. |
Battenkill
2001On Saturday May 19th 2001 Troop 45 went on its 9th Canoe trip on the Batten Kill River. 7 Scouts and 4 leaders canoed 24 miles from Arlington Vermont to Jackson N.Y. It was one of the few years that we enjoyed great weather with no rain. Congratulations to Joe and Noah who now hold the record for dumping their canoe 4 times. Pictures |
Spring
Camporee 2001
PicturesOn the weekend of May 4th, 5th, and 6th Troop 45 had 9 Boy Scouts and 2 leaders attend the Mohican District spring Campore. The event was held in Hanes Falls at the Mountain Top Historical Society. With the great leadership by Steve Jr. and Andrew, the patrol won 2 first place, 1 second place and 1 third place ribbons. The patrol also came in 2nd place overall at the Campore. |
Map
& Compass at Camp Tri-MountOn Saturday Aprill 7th the Map and Compass training course was held at Camp Tri-Mount. 6 Scouts and 2 adult leaders attended the event. Because Tri-Mount still had about 1 ½ feet of snow the scouts had to wear snowshoes to do the 1 mile course. |
