Below is some of the activities the Troop participated in 2002.

Fall Camporee 2002

On the weekend of October 4th, 5th, and 6th Troop 45 had 11 Boy Scouts and 5 leaders attended the Council Fall Camporee. The Camporee had a Medieval Theme. Knights in armor put on some great sword fighting competitions. The event was held at the old Carson City park in Catskill.

Summer Camp 2002

The week of July 21st   – July 26th  Troop 45 had 14 scouts attend Summer camp at Camp Tri-Mount Scout Reservation. Scouts earned a total of 42 merit badges.

Spring Camporee 2002

On the weekend of May 3rd , 4th, and 5thTroop 45 had 8 Boy Scouts and 4 leaders attend the Mohican District Spring Camporee. The event was held at Camp Tri-Mount. The Scouts spent  half a day blazing the red and blue trails of the camp and half a day of Patrol competition at fun events. Troop 45 was in charge of the Tomahawk throw.

Echo Lake Backpacking Trip 2002

On the weekend of April 20th and 21st Troop 45 went backpacking in the
Catskills to Echo Lake. 11 scouts and 4 adults from Troop 45 and Bob DeRuyter with 2 scouts had a great two days learning the basics of backpacking.

Tri-mount Hike Spring 2002

On Saturday April 14th Troop 45 had 7 Scouts and 4 leaders hike 7 1/2
miles up and over Thomas Cole, Black Dome, and Blackhead Mountains also
known as the Tri-Mount Mts. The weather and views were great!

2002 Winter Camp

On the weekend of February 15th , 16th , 17th Troop 45 went winter camping at Camp Boy Haven in the Twin Rivers Council. The Troop had 20 scouts and 6 leaders camp for the weekend. The scouts had a fun filled weekend of snow related activates and rank advancement including a compass course. Next year the Troop will be back at Camp Saratoga.

2002 Klondike Derby

On Saturday January 26th Troop 45 had ten scouts and five leaders attended the Council Klondike Derby held at Camp Tri-Mount. Troop 45 took 3rd place in First Aid and Fire Building competitions. Nine scouts and three adults also did some over night winter camping after the event.
