Slide Mountain

Slide Mountain, the tallest in the Catskill's is located in the southern section of the Forest Perserve in Ulster County.  It is the most poplar mountain to hike in the Catskills and offers a view of all of the mountains over the entire park.  On a clear day you can see all the way to New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

There are three marked trail ways that help lead to the top of Slide:  Phoenicia-East Branch Trail, Wittenberg-Cornell-Slide, and the Curtis-Ormsbee Trail.  There is a map at the bottom of the page.
