Slide Mt. Day Hike


On April 9th 

17 Scouts and 5 Adults hiked up Slide Mt. the Highest Mt. in the Catskills. It was the first year up Slide without any rain. Pictures

Devil's Kitchen Backpacking Trip

On April 1st 

21 Scouts and 11 adults hiked to the Devil's Kitchen lean-to and spent the night. The rain held off until we got the tents up then didn't last long anyway. Winter Camp 2006

On March 10-12
Twenty-five Scouts and 7 adults spent the first "snowless" winter camp at Boyhaven in Saratoga county. We spent our time with map and compass work, fire tending and stickball. Pictures by Tim

Webelos Bridging Ceremony


On February 25th

15 Webelos Scouts from Pack45 bridged over to Boy Scout Troop 45 in a Great ceremony held by the Cub Scouts. Pictures

First Aid Meet 2006


On February 4th

Matt Schiller's Eagle COH

Ropes Course 2005 


Fourteen Boy Scouts and thirteen Webelos participated in a COPE (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) Course at Columbia Greene Community College..  Pictures by Jim E.                       Pictures by Tim K.

3 Mountain Hike (November 5, 2005)


Nine Scouts and six adults tackled the three peaks of the Black Dome Range in the Catskills. We had great weather but the snow made the going tough. The views were spectacular and everyone did very well on a very tough hike..                Pictures by Tim K.

Ticonderoga Camporee 2005


Seventeen Scouts and 6 adults traveled to Fort Ticonderoga on the shores of Lake Champlain to participte in the Twin Rivers Fall Camporee. We did some period games, toured the fort and saw fireworks.. Pictures by Tim K.

Summer Camp 2005 


Twenty six scouts spent the week at Camp Tri-Mount. We had a great time earning lots of merit badges and winning the SPL games, the volleyball tournament, the basketball tournament and the chess tournament. Pictures by Tim K.                        Pictures by Jim

Athens Bicentennial Parade (June 4, 2005)


Pack 45 and Troop 45 had a joint float in the Athens Bicentennial Parade. We had a tent on a flatbed wagon for riding, but several Scouts carried the flags. Pictures

Windham High Peak Backpacking (May 14-15, 2005)


Nine Scouts and three adults backpacked to the first lean-to on the escarpment trail where we camped for the night. On Saturday night we hiked farther up the escarpment trail to Windham High Peak where we enjoyed stunning views over the Hudson Valley. Pictures

Spring Camporee 2005 (April 29-May 1, 2005)


It seems we can't get a break with the weather for our Spring Camporees. We made the best of a very rainy weekend and competed in several events designed to stress teamwork and cooperation. The events included rifle shooting, mountain bike racing, blind man puzzles and rowing. Pictures by Tim

Gettysburg (April 18-22, 2005)

16 Boy Scouts and 5 Leaders Hiked for 5 days, every trail on the Gettysburg Battlefield. Pictures

 

Map and Compass Day (April 16, 2005)

On Saturday Aprill 16th the Map and Compass training course was held at Camp Tri-Mount. 6 Scouts and 4 adults  attended the event. Pictures

Scout Show 2005 (March 19, 2005)


Our booth at the Scout Show this year dealt with knot tying. We taught many Cub Scouts to tie a square knot and challenged a few Boy Scouts to tie knots like the Sheep Shank and Hunter's Bend. Pictures

Bridging Ceremony (March 6, 2005)


Troop 45 welcomed 13 new second year Webelos from Pack 45. Pictures

 

Winter Camp (February 18-20, 2005)

Twenty-two Scouts and seven adults spent two nights and one day at Camp Boy Haven. We did some compass work and practiced fire building, but the favorite outdoor activity was sledding and the favorite indoor activity was playing cards. A few Scouts braved the single digit temperatures to sleep out in tents or lean-tos but most stayed in the wood stove heated cabin. Pictures

 

First Aid Meet (February 5, 2005)


We participated with two teams and competed in scenarios involving CPR and first aid for trauma victims. The event was run by Troop 42 of Greenville with the help of the Greenville Rescue Squad. Pictures

Klondike Derby (January 29, 2005)


Troop 45 competed against 37 other teams in events such as fire building, ice rescue, first aid, map and compass, survival strategies, sled racing and knot tying. We were complimented several times on our teamwork, leadership and knowledge. The weather was perfect and the snow was great. Pictures
